The jury of the ADI International Award gave model zero an honourable mention for the excellence of its design and its alignment with the theme ‘Designing the future society for our lives'.
The award ceremony was held on 5 September 2025 at the Italian Pavilion at Expo 2025 in Osaka. The event was honoured by the presence of prominent figures such as Dimitri S. Kerkentzes, Secretary General of the BIE, and Mario Vattani, Commissioner General for Italy at Expo 2025 in Osaka.
The objects that received the honourable mention will become part of the prestigious ADI Compasso d'Oro collection, recognised by the Italian Ministry of Culture for its ‘exceptional artistic and historical interest' on 22 April 2004.

model zero is an acoustic loudspeaker that combines sophisticated electroacoustic design with the art of luthiery.
Moving away from the traditional concept of the stereo system, which is often reduced to a mere appliance, model zero enters the realm of interior design and shared spaces; it was conceived with the distinct ambition of becoming an element that diffuses sound in the same way a lamp diffuses light.
At the heart of model zero is a soundboard made from tonewood from Val di Fiemme, the same tonewood Stradivari used for his violins. The design, rooted in Italian rationalism, integrates a proprietary patent for electroacoustic technology, allowing this natural membrane to vibrate through an analog signal driven by a dedicated amplifier. The soundboard, handcrafted using artisanal violin-making techniques, has a diameter of 70 cm and varies in thickness from 3 to 6 mm. The elastic tension is ensured by the ribs on its back. The board is suspended between two brass clamps, attached to a hand-burnished support of the same material.
model zero spreads sound in all directions, eliminating the directivity effect typical of traditional speakers. The environment becomes a liquid concept, the sound diffused substance, a pervasive and intrinsic element of the space.
The sound efficiency of model zero ensures spatial coverage of up to 150 square meters. The system can also be expanded with multiple units in series to meet the needs of larger spaces. The sound pressure at 1 meter is 82 dBa (with peaks of 86 dBa), and the frequency response spans from 60 Hz to 18 KHz. The high sensitivity of the wooden membrane allows for detailed listening even at very low volumes.
The integrated 50 W class D amplifier drives the resonance soundboard, making the system comparable to a traditional 130 – 150 W setup. Controlled via a dedicated remote, model zero can receive a digital signal via Bluetooth 5.0 or an analog signal via cable.
